Test scores are only one measure of success. Assessing the satisfaction of parents, students and staff offers a broader, richer range of performance measures useful for identifying school strengths and areas in need of improvement. Results can be used to guide school improvement efforts, school-wide, and by grade-level and department. Schools also have found the survey results useful in the accreditation and charter school renewal processes, as well as for long-term planning and fundraising efforts.
Content of Surveys
The SSS-USC surveys contain about 40-50 questions (depending on the stakeholder group) covering the following content areas:
- School environment
- Academic program
- School support services
- School culture
- Teachers and administrators
The surveys also can be customized to include questions that specifically relate to your school’s mission. The surveys include several open-ended questions, and are available in both English and Spanish.

USC-SSS implements the webfeedback™ survey system. All Stakeholder Satisfaction Surveys have easy online delivery, automatic scoring and reporting. Results are displayed through bar graphs that can be disaggregated by stakeholder demographics and by grade or department. The technology platform also allows schools to benchmark their results with other schools and to track their own results overtime.
Pricing of all three surveys for individual schools is based on student enrollment. Fees for school districts, charter management organizations and other schools with multiple sites are determined based on the number of schools in operation.
